01 DNA
10 Jan - 28 Feb 2025

In 1914, the presentation of Marcel Duchamp's “readymade” Bottle Rack revolutionised the way we perceive art. This inaugural exhibition, DNA (Design Nor Art), pays fealty to avant-garde pioneers who, like Duchamp before them, celebrate imperfection, diversity, and an anarchic spirit.

The exhibition works on three levels. First, it presents distinct eight objects in pairs. Like strands entwined in a double helix, the coupling reveals shared aesthetics while suggesting newcontextual perspectives.

On another level, DNA symbolises the unapologetic individuality of their creative individuals who made these objects that defy categorisation.

Finally, DNA serves as a metaphor for our philosophy, igniting the first of many projects at TOKONOMA.It represents our commitment to curiosity, dialogue, and ideas.
