02 THE ART OF WAR
17 May - 29 June 2025
War has long shaped visual culture, pushing artists and designers to transform violence into acts of creative expression.
The Art of War: Creativity Born From Conflict traces how conflict has influenced craft, fashion, and design.
The second exhibition at TOKONOMA, The Art of War reveals how artists and makers have navigated conflict—not by glorifying war, but by transforming its materials and imagery into acts of remembrance, defiance, and reinvention. Whether through a rug, a uniform, or a chair, each object on view turns instruments of survival into symbols of resilience, identity, and cultural memory.
Each piece has been carefully selected from private collections for its rarity and resonance, offering a glimpse into how history is woven, welded, and worn into form.
