This really is an item like no other. I’ve always loved the look of chainmail yet I question its practicality for our modern, urban lives. So I decided to print it on a scarf while making it look as realistic as possible.

Separately, I’ve always loved the look of large traditional headscarves worn by different cultures. Some originate from function, others, belief. I thought about what I wanted to say with this item, and to me, it’s about protection from the world.
