I wanted to make an overshirt that could look and feel like a cardigan. I was inspired by the curves of the scars on the creature from Frankenstein, and wanted to bring that into the design of the garment. Even the nature of this garment is very Frankenstein, being that you could wear it in multiple different ways.
Unbuttoned, as a cardigan. Top two buttons fastened, revealing the t-shirt or tank top you’re wearing underneath for colour contrast. Fully buttoned up, as a shirt.
200gsm cotton fleece, brushed on the reverse, light enough to fall rather than hold. The closure runs in a curve down the side and takes our buttons in any order you choose, fastened high, low or left open, so the shape is determined by the wearer. The hem is cut short on the left and long on the right.
