Tokonoma x Hypebeast, for Hypebeast Cup 2026 (Edition of 100)

What if I could remake our previously released camo shorts? That was the question I asked myself when Hypebeast approached us to conceptualise this collaboration for World Cup.

For the uninitiated, we released the actual camo cargo pants last year and got into some trouble for using this fabric. Long story short, we would never be able to get our factory to restock them.

So we did the most Tokonoma thing. Using trompe l’oeil as a technique to create the optical illusion that these sweat shorts are actually the camo cargos. This was based on my personal pair, with all the damage and distressing.

From scanning the shorts to matching the patterns panel-to-panel, this is by far the craziest and most technically demanding piece of garment we have ever created.

These sweats are produced in a limited run of 100, no restocks.

Joash is a 32 waist. He wears a size M.
Ken is a 29 waist. He wears a size S for a tighter fit.
